Our Mission
GEMS is an all-girls summer camp and after-school program dedicated to STEAM and programming, aimed at inspiring young girls from Bexar County and nearby areas to explore and excel in STEM fields.
Our Goal
To increase the number of female students interested in STEM careers, with an emphasis on engineering and computer science.
Our Objective
GEMS aims to increase the number of female students from underrepresented communities who choose STEM-related pathways in high school, pursue STEM careers, or select STEM majors after graduation.
Did you know???
In the United States, women represent 14% of the engineering workforce (15% globally). In 2020, women earned 24% of bachelor's degrees in engineering, while women of color accounted for 10% of all engineering degrees.
